The study, the largest on the topic in blacks to date, showed that people who were involved in religious activities had significantly lower blood pressure than people who were not.Even better, spiritual activity seemed to play a role in lowering stress as well:

A second article, entitled "Going to Church May Improve Mental Health", said:
A new survey of nearly 37,000 men and women shows that people who regularly attend church, synagogue, or other religious services are less likely to suffer from depression and other psychiatric illnesses than those who don't.And, the more you go, the better off you are!
So, if you need a new reason to pray or go to church - now you have it! Seek God, spend time with Him, pray daily and go to church weekly. Your blood pressure and you mental health will thank you!
